I wish I could tell you, but I don't know. I'm not a member of the core team, just a volunteer contributor and frequent user. Hopefully we'll get a rough estimate from the Zotero team some time, but nothing has been forthcoming.

This couldn’t be implemented before the changes in the sync system that came in Zotero 5.0. I believe this is planned to be added during the field overhaul in Zotero 5.1.
