Hi all.
Ok, I've imported, and extracted the metadata from all my pdf journal articles-- I have a bunch of pdf papers which I d/l'd from my university library.
I've got 36 items which do not have metadata, or are secured, and cannot be read, or are image pdf's, and do not have OCR'ed text.

I get that the one's which are not OCR'ed will need to be done manually.
I was told in a previous thread that the rest are probably due to the source being a protected website, such as a university library's journal subscription. As soon as I can get up to campus, I'll be trying up there.

Another thought that I had was to see if I could manually set up some other library source, other than the Google library.

Any ideas on how to pull metadata from non-std sources?
Thank you.
  • the secure website thing is a misinformation or a misunderstanding.
Zotero looks on google scholar, I'm pretty sure the search results don't vary whether you have access to an article or not, so most likely trying from campus won't matter.
If retrieve metadata doesn't work, you can either put in the data by hand or get the article from whatever database you want to use and attach the pdf.
There is no option to manually set another source retrieve metadata.
