2.1b7 locks all local file:/// URLs under WinXP, can't delete file
I'm using Firefox 4 beta 12 on Windows XP SP3 along with Zotero 2.1b7. I really like Zotero.
I have observed that when I view a file:/// URL in Firefox with Zotero installed, the file becomes locked and can't be deleted. This is not the behavior when Zotero is not installed. And it happens even without using Zotero in any way -- just viewing the file in the browser causes the locking, if Zotero is installed. When I exit Firefox, I can delete the file normally. I verified this in a clean profile in Firefox.
Steps to reproduce:
- Create a clean Firefox profile.
- Create a local file (maybe named local.html).
- View local.html in Firefox.
- Delete local.html (using Windows Explorer, for instance). Delete works fine.
- Install Zotero 2.1b7 and restart Firefox.
- Re-create local.html and view it in Firefox.
- Try to delete local.html, and note that it "is being used by another person or program."
- Close Firefox, and then delete local.html successfully.

JoeVThanks. Just wanted to note that the problem still exists in 2.1rc2 under Firefox 4.0 RC1 on WinXP SP3.

dstillmanThanks for trying to debug this (on zotero-dev), but this should already be fixed in 2.1rc3, available now.

JoeVYes, fixed. Excellent. Thank you!
