dynamically update citations in msword?

hi. i've looked all over for an answer to this question and can't find it...

i have been using zotero to add citations to my word doc. in some cases, when i look at the citation that zotero added to my word doc i notice an error or want to change it, so i go to zotero and edit my citation. but the "old" citation remains in my word doc.

how do i get my "new" citations to change in my word doc???

the word plugin has a "refresh" button.

First click the "Refresh" button in the Zotero toolbar in Word. If that doesn't fix things, it sounds like you used the citation editor in the Word integration plugin at some point. If you've made manual adjustments after clicking "Show Editor" in the integration window, Zotero can no longer update the citation to match changes in the Zotero database. In that case you'll have to remove and reinsert the citation.

now, could someone please tell me what actual keys those crazy keystroke shortcuts refer to?! those symbols don't appear anywhere on my mac keyboard! i've asked, like, 10 other mac users and no one recognizes them...
