If you're interested in troubleshooting this, you'll have to be more specific. I can say with confidence that in general the Standalone is working fine for a good many people. What have you done, what has happened, etc.?
ya sorry, my comment was not very helpful but i have learned that if i follow the instruction given for any software and it doesn't work right away then i am done with it until and updated version comes out.
i installed everything as instructed and the zotero icon NEVER shows up in the chrome or firefox address bar.
i go back to the original firefox add on it it works perfectly.
so again, very sorry i am not going to waste my time troubleshooting this. i would like to use it in chrome however so i will check again when it gets out of beta.
that's unfortunately not how things work. What you describe is not known as an issue - the installation works fine for everyone else we know of - so unless you're willing to help troubleshoot this, it won't get fixed, not in future betas nor in the final version. There's nothing magic about the final version.
