do not move file to storage on drag and drop
Hello all,
I can't figure out how to set the preferences of Zotero to act the following way:
- Do not move files on drag&drop to the "storage" directory, but keep them on the original place.
Is there such option configuration, please?
Up to now I used Zotero in various Firefox profiles and created various databases, in which I collected the attachments in their "storage". In a new database, I would like to use Zotero only in a renaming and cataloguing mode, but not in a collecting mode. (I would like to manage a directory tree where files are already collected and placed to their appropriate subdirectory.) I would like to be able to drag&drop file to items as previously, but I would like to link or keep them in the original place only. Is that feasible, please?
The other option would be to add attachments as links via a right-click menu, right?. But this way I would loose the possibility to drag&drop attachments to items (which is a much less time consuming and less error producing action).
Cheers, Z

no need to add your voice there - devs are aware this is a frequent request.
