Sorting by author last name (no sorting on first or middle initials)

Hi,

Am trying to customize our group specific style so that it sorts by author last name only and doesn't consider author initials when alphabetizing. The secondary sort parameter is title.

I'm currently using a modified version of the American Medical Association (dev) style. It sorts by author name and includes first name initials as part of the alphabetization process.

Is there a way to do this?

This should be possible by sorting on a macro, rather than the variable name. This is definitely the case for Zotero 2.1beta / CSL 1.0:

I'm pretty sure that this works in Zotero 2.0 as well, but that's just my memory speaking; best to verify before trusting.
