Everything turns grey in bibliography Word Mac 08

When I make a Zotero bibliography using Word Mac 08, it turns out fine except anytime you click anywhere inside the bibliography, everything gets highlighted in gray. It will not go away unless you click outside the bibliography. It's quite annoying and is difficult to read and edit that way.

Is this some sort of Word or Zotero feature or is it an error? How to I make it stop?

In Word, change Preferences->View->Field shading to None.
