Offline Zotero freezes Firefox, slows down typing

Zotero works fine when I'm online. When I'm off-line there are major hiccups while I type in notes. It types very slowly, won't register all of the letters I type, and then after awhile freezes Firefox. Is this a Zotero or a Firefox problem? What can I do to fix it? I don't have internet access in the archives! Thanks for your help.

    Try disabling automatic syncing -- that's what I do in the archives.

    Good idea. I tried that, but the problem persists.

    do you have the tag selector on in the left hand panel? If so that might be part of the problem - (solution is to close it).
    Otherwise, this could still be an issue unrelated to Zotero - hard to tell.

    If it happens even with automatic syncing off, then this is very odd behavior.

    Also make sure that you are not working within search results from a saved search -- I've seen behavior like this when editing an item from a list of search results.
