Zotero 2.1 beta 5 poses a problem...?

I've just upgraded to Zotero 2.1 Beta 5, and I receive the message.

"Firefox could not load the component required to communicate with your word processor. Please ensure that the appropriate Firefox extension is installed and try again."

Can someone tell me what to do next? I thought that Zotero 2.1 Beta 5 was the extension. At least that is the impression given in the documentation. Does the word "extension" (mentioned above) now mean the word-processor plugin? But, as I make it out, there are no new word-processor plugins. Thanks in advance.

Just to be clear: I am using Windows XP (Pro), and FireFox 3.6.16.

If you are speaking of the word-processor plugin 3.1b1, I've downloaded that plugin, and the equivalent for when I use OO. Neither work. Just to make sure that I had loaded the right plugins, I loaded them again, and I still receive the message that I quote in my first posting above.

Thank you Adam Smith. Your suggestion, after a bit of fiddling, worked. It had something to do with Java, but I don't quite know what I did that did the trick.
