last-name initials

hello!
I'm looking for last-name initials for the citation, e.g. if Sarah Cooper and David Angus wrote a paper in 2002 I want the citation to look like this: CA2002
I tried something along the lines of the stuff proposed here: http://forums.zotero.org/discussion/15548/style-with-author-in-capital-letters-or-where-to-edit/
but did not succeed (not even to get it in capital letters, so I did something wrong anyway). But I wonder is that even possible to produce?
most thankful for any suggestions (or even a flat "no", allowing me to stop trying),

  • The CSL language doesn't support this. You would have to manually register the initials (or the key) in the "Extra" field, and call it in your CSL (as the "note" variable). But that will be a maintenance headache for you, and won't play well if you exchange data later with other people, so I wouldn't recommend it.

oh, that is a pity - thanks though for telling me! :)
(I thought about the "extra" field, but as this would be as much work as changing the citations manually before I send it out, I hoped for a more elegant solution)
  • Here is the kb article on the topic, including a link to instructions how to work through the extra field.

  • thank you, that is really helpful!
