Report Number Citation

Hello Forum!

First up, thank you so much for producing and maintaining Zotero. As a disorganized PhD student it has really been a life saver :D

I have one quick query regarding the document type 'report' and was hoping someone could help me. I have added the report title, institution and report number in my data fields in Zotero, but when I attempt to cite the report in a footnote, the report number will not appear in the citation. I cant seem to find any option such as 'suppress report number' and am completely stumped! I am using Chicago style, full note with bibliography, if this makes any difference!

Many thanks for your help!

most styles don't use the report number field - no particular reason, just that there are rarely clear guidelines on how to cite reports. You'd have to adjust the style manually (personally I'm too lazy and just put the number into the 'report type' field)
In case you want to change the style, the variable is "number", so you'd have to add
<text variable="number"/> in the respective location

    for general instructions.

    Much appreciation to you!
