removing Ibid.

I am using Author/Date style. But actually what I am looking for is Turabian style, which does not use Ibid. does anyone have idea how to change Ibid. with the name of the author? Is it safe to delete ibid. manually?
  • Has there been any recent work done on this problem? I went through my defense and this was told Turabian did not allow this any more I do not know how to change it. I am using the latest version of the Firefox add-on and Word plug-in.
  • What they told you is nonsense - Turabian and Chicago Manual of style continue to (strongly) suggest using ibid. I really wish professors would stop insisting on students following specific rules when they can't even keep up with them themselves.

There are a couple of Chicago Manual styles without ibid on the repository (they're marked with no ibid). They are very close to Turabian, so it's probably easiest to use those.
  • I am using Zotero Standalone and would like to know how to get rid of Ibid in my document- I do not see an option for Chicago Manual of Style no Ibid in my options. If there is something alternative, is there a way to then go back to the document and change the ibid or will Zotero do that automatically?
  • @vinci8622: Search for "Chicago" here - http://www.zotero.org/styles - and install one of the "no ibid" Chicago style. Then, change your citation style in your document ("Zotero Set Doc Prefs" icon: http://www.zotero.org/support/word_processor_plugin_usage#plugin_toolbar)
  • Thanks so much! It worked! :)
