Quirky fields in manual data entry

Manual data entry on my system is a lot more difficult than it needs to be. I have to do a lot of clicking around in the area of a field to get it to open and fields don't close when I click outside them. Once I get a field open I can tab easily among them, but that's usually not a very direct way to get to the field I want to activate.

I've found that if I mouse around where the top edge of the field should be the top border will display, then if I'm quick about it I can click on it and the field will open.

Anybody else experience this? Anything I can do to get it to work as I assume it should?

    do you have any themes/personas installed in Firefox? If so, try disabling them.

    Yep. My initial reaction was, "But I don't wanna give it up!" But I like the Firefox default better. They musta changed it since I started using personas.
