PiCarta

PiCarta is the Dutch library catalogue with all main libraries involved. According to Picarta, they support Zotero. For me however, I can't seem to find the Zotero icon to import items to my library. Since PiCarta supports Zotero, the problem is either with my computer or with my Zotero version.
(I'm a regular user of Zotero and everything works just fine for other catalogues)

    Has anyone looked into this? I'm providing some examples from that (apparently 'proprietary') Dutch format. And for people using this for Picarta - let's make sure we collectively push them (Picarta) to adopt a more standard format.

    While Zotero doesn't support this metadata format, it does support the PICA family of catalogs so I'd have expect it to work via the Save to Zotero button. Does it not? (I don't have access either). The original post is 7 years old, we worked a lot on PICA import since.

    Supporting that metadata format is certainly possible -- it seems reasonably clean -- but writing import format translators is a ton of manual labor, so there'd have to be a strong case for it to be needed (or funding).

    Update: I stand corrected. The connector does change to the folder icon (sometimes), but it then gives a troubleshooting error. I will submit the error.

    no need, I can replicate that. We're having similar issues with the French Sudo catalog (same system), but it's all a bit weird and on-and-off (e.g., I can download individual items from KB, but Zotero doesn't detect consistently).

    Update (for those interested) - I found a work-around: use one of the PiCarta filters from the University of Maastricht and then do a search on the Dutch interface of the kb (Royal Library). Export the results in 'EndNote' format (one of the three options) and then import that EndNote file with one of those filters into EndNote  (a free 30-day fully functional trial version is available). Save the imported references as an EndNote library and then import that one into Zotero. Still a pain in the neck, but at least it works
