How to change font size of inline references?

The problem is that I changed the 'normal' font style to be one point smaller, but the references remain the original size.

    I don't use Word, so don't know how Zotero is currently interacting with it. But generally, you don't want to use the "normal" style at all. Better to have something like "body text" that is not connected to "normal", and then have other styles connected to that. Then check how the citation itself is tagged.
