Collections (folders)

When one creates a folder (called in Zotero collection), it is not clear to me whether it is a "virtual folder/collection" or a physical one. So, if I "remove collection" am I only removing the folder/collection name, or also the items inside it?

    Answering myself: collections/folders are "virtual"; they are like tags added to items. Deleting them do not remove the items.

    BTW, how can one delete own postings with questions that do not apply any longer?
