deleting first name initiales/full first names in citations
When making citations I would like it only last names and year to be visible. In the bibliography full names should still be shown.
How do I make this correction? It should be based on the Chicago Manual of Style (author-date).

then delete
<option name="disambiguate-add-givenname" value="true"/>
and press refresh.
Nothing happens. I tried changing other minor functions such as
<option name="et-al-min" value="3"/> --> <option name="et-al-min" value="4"/>
which works just fine.
I do not know if it has got anything to say but I am working from a MacBook.
so you first go to the test panel. (chrome://zotero/content/tools/csledit.xul)
Then you have several citations by the same author - with different spelling of the first name - selected, right?
In the sample citations in the middle of your screen, you see the first names/initials, right?
Then you delete
<option name="disambiguate-add-givenname" value="true"/>
and nothing changes? That's odd.
The only reason I can think of is that you have the authors put in the wrong way -
they all need to be in the form "Smith, Adam" (or Smith, A.) If you have "Adam Smith" that either gets treated as just a last name, or, if you toggle the "switch to single field" option next to the author's name, as a corporate author (such as "Congressional Research Service") - in either case the first name would always be present, simply because Zotero doesn't treat it as a first name but as part of a last name/corporate name.
