Annotations/Hightlighting not working

I have noticed that when I "create a new item from current page" of my college's course modules I can not highlight nor annotate any comments, but on other websites these features in zotero will work.
How come the Annotations/Highlighting are not working for some "create a new item from current page" snapshot.

I have the same problem with pages archived as gkevari mentioned. The annotation buttons are there, and when I click the "highlight" button it turns dark (i.e. activated) but then selecting text does nothing. FWIW, the sticky note function does seem to work.

I am revisiting this issue of not highlight nor annotate any comments. If any person knows of a solution please let me know.
