Upgrade Storagestarred items or marking as important

getting into zotero more and more.. but as I populate my collection and get long list of titles in the central window I am sometimes struggling to find the most relevant articles I want to go back to.
Say maybe I have 30 titles and 5 of them are really important, the other ones reporting smaller increments.
Obviously I could tag these 5 with whatever tag (eg "!!!") and search for that tag... but it would be nice if I could highlight them in the list, with colors, a star whatever (a bit like in an email interface) so that I would see them straight away when I open my collection..
Maybe there is a way to do that already..
