Zotero Integration Error!

I run Ubuntu Linux 10.04, Mozilla Firefox 3.6.11, Zotero 2.0.9 and OOO320ml2(OpenOffice.org 3.2.0).
I have Sun-Java-6 which appears to be correctly installed and working ok?
Today I installed zotero openoffice integration 3.0a8.
In preferences for this addon I reinstalled OpenOffice.org components.
When I try to insert a citation in OpenOffice I get the following error:
"Firefox Integration Error:
Firefox could not load the component required to communicate with your word processor. Please ensure that the appropriate Firefox extension is installed and try again."

Having followed the troubleshooting documentation, making sure I have the correct estension, correct defaulkt Java version, reinstalled the openoffice components, I'm not sure what to try next?

Any help is greatly appreciated
  • try tinkering with app armor. See the bottom of the troubleshooting section:
    http://www.zotero.org/support/word_processor_plugin_troubleshooting#component_loading_error1
  • Thank you, I tried this too and still no joy. Have started from the top, re-installing the addon and in preferences re-installing the components. Have even tried restarting the whole computer!
  • first of all - your set-up in general should and does work - I'm running the exact same set-up without problems.

    What's the output of
    sudo update-alternatives --config mozilla-javaplugin.so
    ?
Some people have reported that it's necessary to completely uninstall Iced-Tea, you might try that, too.
  • I have the same problem.

  • burgold - well, my last post ends with a question - if you have indeed the same problem - i.e. the same error on Ubunutu Linux - please provide that output.
  • Yes that was it!
I needed to completely uninstall Iced-Tea. After that, it worked. Thanks for your help. Burgold, perhaps this is the same for you?
