First Names Dropping on Citations and Bibliographies

I know this was addressed in another post, but the fixes aren't working for me:

1) Manually change line 1137 of extensions/zotero@chnm.gmu.edu/chrome/content/zotero/xpcom/cite_compat.js

I'm running OS 10.4.10, firefox 2.0.0.8, and Zotero 1.0.0.rc5. What do I do I need to modify?

2) Download the Development XPI.

I've done this (ran the installation) and it still did not work.

Any help would be appreciated.

    this new update also seems to drop page numbers and there is no period at the end of citations (at least on footnotes-- I'm using Chicago note w/o reference if that matters).

    I'm also using Chicago without references.

    I saw the other discussion as well, and I have to say that these fixes are way beyond my technical skills -- is there a fix on the way for regular people?
