compound first names

Hello,
I use the APA style (6th edition). Today, I am writing an article in French. I have a presentation problem for the bibliography of French authors with compound first names (eg : Jean-Emile Gombert). Currently, the names of the authors appear as follows: Gombert J. (2005). But the publisher of the book asked me to make it appear as follows: Gombert J.-E. (2005). How can I do it automatically?
Thank you for your help.

  • Zotero 2.1 beta can do this. Be sure to back up your data and your document first, if you decide to give it a try.
  • It s not possible to do it with zotero-2.0.6?

No -- the citation processor in the 2.0.x and below versions of Zotero doesn't recognize compound first names for initialization purposes. The Zotero 2.1 beta incorporates a new processor that was designed to support many cases like this that just couldn't be handled by the old version.

In my experience, the 2.1 beta is stable enough for most uses, although the usual warnings about time sensitive and mission critical applications apply-- don't switch yet if you're about to submit a dissertation, make regular backups, etc.
  • OK. Thank you.
