corrupted field code

I use Firefox version 3.6.10, Word 2007, and Zotero 2.0.8.
I repeatedly get the following message when I try to insert a citation:

"The Zotero field code corresponding to this citation, which tells Zotero which item in your library this citation represents, has been corrupted. Would you like to reselect the item?
Clicking “No” will delete the field codes for citations containing this item, preserving the citation text but potentially deleting it from your bibliography."

I've tried restarting the computer, turning off "track changes", etc. Nothing seems to work. This is very disconcerting, since I am trying to work under a tight deadline.

Thank you in advance for any help.
  • Could you clarify if you have actually re-selected the citation in question? And was it always the same or is it all of them?
Are you using Bookmarks or Field (look in Document Preferences in the plugin)
  • I have tried re-selecting the citations. It's not all of them, but it is many of them. I have been using Fields.
    Thank you.
  • If you can send the document to support@zot...org, we'll take a look.
  • You have corrupt field codes in your tracked changes. Disabling track changes doesn't help because the comments are still there, and reselecting doesn't help because the changes can't be modified. You can either set the display to Final rather than Final Showing Markup or accept all changes. If you still get corrupt field code errors after this, it should be sufficient to re-select the documents associated with the specific citations.
