Sync Error

Hi,

I have tried to sync with Zotero's server through sync preferences, and it does not work. I type in my username and password and then I am asked to provide the master password for the Software Security Device. I cannot go any farther from this step. This is my report id: 956180035.

    User canceled master password entry, login not added.
    This is a Firefox message, not a Zotero one. You presumably set a master password on the Firefox login manager, which Zotero uses. This shouldn't be any different from storing a password for any web site.

    Enter your master password or try Mozilla support if you need further help.

    What if I don't remember ever setting a master password or type in a password when opening Mozilla. Isn't Firefox login manager an add-on?

    How would I explain this problem to the Mozilla support team specifically what Zotero is?

    No, the Firefox login manager is built in to Firefox. It's where Firefox stores all passwords. You should see the same prompt if you try to save a password from a website.

    This doesn't have anything specifically to do with Zotero, but you can always provide a link to this thread.

    (LoginManager is a third-party Firefox add-on. Mozilla appears to call the Firefox feature in question the Password Manager in support documents. In the code it's called the Login Manager. Sorry for the confusion.)

    Thank you very much for your help, I went to the website you gave me and I can now Sync with Zotero's Server.

    I have another question though. Should I create another post?
    My question is: I am trying to drag the entire file I created under "My Library" to "Group Libraries". Every time I try to drag the entire file, it isn't present under Group Libraries. However, when I open the file under the "My Library" section and then drag each article in that file to another file in Group Libraries, it works. Is there a reason I cannot drag the entire file from "My Library" to "Group Libraries"?

    Only items can currently be dragged to group libraries. (I assume you mean "collection", not "file".)
