Use original Language

Hi there,
how can I get zotero or my style to use the original language title instead of the [Translated] one from pubmed?
In Pubmed there is the Original title in a field called TT in the medline output or <VernacularTitle> in the xml-output. Is this field saved in zotero as well?

no, not currently.
There are a number of threads out there discussing various versions of this problem.

The closest match is http://forums.zotero.org/discussion/1798/multiple-versions-of-a-field-in-a-record/ ; it will be possible to do something like this in Zotero 2.1, but it may be a very elegant or intuitive solution until a later version. It will take additional work to add support for this in import translators like Pubmed, but that should also happen eventually.

Hmm. The CiNii aggregator site in Japan provides translated titles, and transliterations of names in kana and roman. Would be very slick to have all this data play smoothly in the Zotero UI. It's a main watering hole for researchers working in Japanese.

This link to the APS journals shows that multilingual citation is starting to catch hold among publishers, too.

Well, I'll start looking into adding support to site translators. I don't know if this should be added to the default translators until the UI settles down, since it won't make for very pretty field content in the meantime.

Yep, should definitely be opt-in, since cramming everything into the same field on Zotero-side will mess up the output pretty badly in 2.0.
