order of appearance of collections and subcollections

i have a few very important collections which i use a lot, and i put a "[" character before these so that they appear top of the list.

on windows, this works, and they appear first in the list.

[pharmacology
pasteurisation
procrastination

on ubuntu, they appear as if the [ character was not present

pasteurisation
[pharmacology
procrastination

on web view, they appear at the bottom:

pasteurisation
procrastination
[pharmacology

this isn't a huge issue, just a bit of a drag. maybe there's a way to fix it?
