storage syncing at 50% for hours

Hi--I've been uploading attachments (pdfs) to Zotero all day, and realized 2 hours ago that it had been reading 50% progress for hours (10KB of uploads remaining, no downloads). Also what looks like a radial button appeared to the left of the sync indicator and progress bar labeled "cancel storage sync". I clicked it 2 hours ago and again recently. The sync arrow continues to whirl. When I hover it says "last sync 2 hours ago." No error reports at any time. I use Zotero file storage.
