Annotations not appearing in snapshots

Hi,

I've never posted before, but I'm having a problem that I simply
can't resolve.

When I annotate a snapshot on a computer with full adobe acrobat, and
then sync, I don't see the annotations when I look on another computer.
However, when I reboot the first computer the annotations are still there.
So I know that the annotations must be saved somehow. It is very
puzzling to me that I can't get the annotations to appear when I use
another computer.

When I annotate pdf articles, then everything is fine and I see the changes
made on one computer on another. The problem is just with snapshots. I know
that snapshots are basically just pdf files with some addition information.
That is why I can't understand why I can't see the annotations on another
computer.

Does anyone understand? Can anyone help!!

  • I know
that snapshots are basically just pdf files with some addition information.
no, not at all - they are webpages (html).
And indeed these annotations don't sync - they're not saved in the file the same way adobe pdf annotations are, so there is nothing mysterious about this - unfortunately also not much you can do apart from converting the pages to pdf (I believe there is a FF add-on for that).
  • okay, thanks that makes sense.

Could you point me to the FF add on to do that?
It sounds that I should convert the pages to pdf.
Right now I show the contents of the snapshot, copy
the pdf file into the zotero window, and then drag the
    pdf to the associated reference.

    Thanks,

  • sorry, don't remember - but I'm sure you can easily find it with google or on the mozilla add-on page
