COinS: Is there a way to specify that a person is an editor not an author?

I've been writing COinS metadata for ebooks and there's been no problem so far when i need to put authors using the "rft.au" attribute.

The problem now is I need to display a name and label it as an 'editor' (and sometimes 'contributor') so that zotero displays it as such in the info tab.

I've read through the Z39.88-2004 document and several other documents but can't find any metadata tag or attribute that will do that.

So now I'm wondering it its possible at all. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Unfortunately, COinS is quite imperfect, and it doesn't handle this. Look into using RDF or unAPI; the latter can be used to serve RDF, MODS, BibTeX.
