Request for support for upgrading to Zotero 2.0
Hi all,
I have 2 MAC: on the newest one (which supports Snow Leopard and then Firefox 3) I have installed Zotero 2.0. But on the oldest one I have a big Zotero folder and then I have the problem of migrating these data (together with the attached files) from the old MAC with Z1 to the new MAC with Z2. The problem is that I can't upgrade to Zotero 2 on the old MAC since it is a G4 PowerPC and then it only supports Panther (MAC OS 10.3) and Panther only supports Firefox 2 and Zotero 1. Besides, I have read that it is not at all advisable do an export of all the Zotero library in the case of a very big database of records and files. I have also read that the structure of the Zotero directory is entirely different in Z 2. So I imagine I can't simply copy from the old MAC the Zotero folder and put into the new MAC with Snow Leopard, Firefox 3 and Zotero 2. Or can I? Would the system be able to check the old structure of Z1 and propose me an upgrade? In short: what could you advise me to do in this case?
Thanks in advance for your cooperation

SimonYou can just copy the Zotero data directory. Zotero 2 will recognize it and upgrade it automatically.

markedited July 25, 2010Do keep a backup copy just in case. No need to worry, the update process usually is a breeze.
