Footnote citations in parentheses

I often have some discussion or explanation in a footnote followed by a citation in parentheses. It would be nice if there was an option in the "Add/Edit Citation" box that you could check in such cases that would change parentheses within the citation to square brackets.

In the thread that adamsmith links, we went 'round and 'round looking for an automagic solution and came up dry, unfortunately. Handling it with a tick-box and processor option is an interesting idea, though. If you can convince the Zotero developers that the use case is common enough to justify adding the tick-box option to the UI, it would be possible to implement it inside the CSL processor.
