Upgrade StorageRead Aloud: Long pauses between sentences with local SAPI5 voice (Zotero 10)

I'm using Zotero 10 with a local SAPI5 voice (Microsoft Edge-TTS, Dutch Fenna Neural).
The voice sounds great, but there are unusually long pauses between sentences, sometimes lasting several seconds. Increasing the reading speed doesn't shorten these pauses, and removing trailing silence from the audio hasn't helped.
Interestingly, Zotero's Dutch Premium Voice 7 reads exactly the same text much more fluently.
Could this be caused by how Zotero processes local voices sentence by sentence, or might it be an issue with my SAPI5 bridge?
Ideally, I'd love to have Dutch Premium Voice 7 available without the current listening limits. That would be a fantastic solution too!
