Upgrade StorageTitle: Zotero Connector times out when saving PDF from PubMed (saveAttachmentFromResolver)
Hello Zotero team,
I'm experiencing a persistent problem with Zotero Connector when saving articles from PubMed. The article metadata is saved successfully, but the PDF attachment is not saved.
Environment
Zotero Desktop: 10.0.6 (64-bit)
Zotero Connector: 5.0.217
Browser: Microsoft Edge
Operating system: Windows

Error message
The Connector reports:
HTTP request to http://127.0.0.1:23119/connector/saveAttachmentFromResolver has timed out after 15000ms
I also received the following message when saving from PubMed:
“An error occurred while saving from PubMed. Trying to save using Embedded Metadata instead.”
Debug IDs
Zotero Connector Debug ID: D1466101887
Zotero Desktop Debug ID: D646757836
Troubleshooting already attempted
Confirmed that http://127.0.0.1:23119/connector/ping returns “Zotero is running”.
Confirmed that Zotero's Find Full Text successfully retrieves PDFs.
Confirmed that saving the same article from its PMC full-text page saves the PDF successfully.
Disabled the EasyPubMedicine and Header Editor browser extensions.
Disabled Zotero proxy redirection.
Reset translators in both Zotero Desktop and Zotero Connector.
Restarted the applications and tested again.
The problem persists: saving from PubMed saves the metadata but not the PDF, while saving from PMC works.
The Connector tooltip identifies the translator as “Save to Zotero (PubMed)”, but the saving process can still fail.
Could you help determine why the PubMed saving process times out when saving the PDF attachment?
