Upgrade StorageZotero 10.0.5 + Word 365 2608: “Zotero experienced an error updating your document”

I can insert citations successfully, but Zotero repeatedly reports “Zotero experienced an error updating your document.”
The same error also occurs in a new blank Word document.
I have already reinstalled the Microsoft Word add-in and removed/reinstalled Zotero.dotm, but the problem persists.
