Bug in read aloud: very loud distorted "blip" sound between every sentence

When using local voices there is a loud distorted "blip" sound between every single sentence. This is 100% reproducible for me. It is not reproducible with premium voices.

Tested several macOS premium voices and issue happend with any of the voices.

As this is not reproducible when using the same voices in books app it seems this needs fixing in Zotero.

I can reproduce this on macOS 27. We're working on a fix.

This is due to a macOS bug that we’ve reported to Apple, but we’ve worked around it in the latest Zotero beta. We’ve disabled local voices on macOS 27 in Zotero 10.0.5 to avoid the problem in the meantime.

Thanks for the update. Whatever happened to quality control at Apple it really is and has been in a poor state for a while. Hope it won't be years until they address the issue.

Has this been addressed in a workaround in 10.0.6-beta.1+77a1c03f7? In a brief test local voices are available and the blip sound issue after each sentence is no longer reproducible. Tested on macOS 27.0.1.

Yes, it's fixed in the beta, which will be 10.0.6.
