Error Report ID: 1602370658

My library failed to sync when I opened Firefox.

I am running:
Zotero v.2.0.3
Firefox v.3.6.6
Windows XP (Desktop)

I tried restarting Firefox and restarting the computer and neither worked. I disabled my virus protection software (Symantec) and still had the same problem. I also tried disabling my other Firefox add-ons and restarting Firefox. However, I continue to get the same error. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
  • I am still unable to sync and receiving the same error as before (with the circled exclamation point). In case it can provide any further assistance, this is the error report that I receive when I click on it:

[Exception... "Component returned failure code: 0x80004005 (NS_ERROR_FAILURE) [mozIStorageStatement.execute]" nsresult: "0x80004005 (NS_ERROR_FAILURE)" location: "JS frame :: chrome://zotero/content/xpcom/db.js :: anonymous :: line 139" data: no] [QUERY: INSERT INTO items (itemID, itemTypeID, dateAdded, dateModified, clientDateModified, libraryID, key) VALUES (?, ?, ?, ?, ?, ?, ?)] [ERROR: constraint failed]

I have tried disabling my virus software before restarting Firefox as was suggested here. However, Zotero still failed to sync with the exact same error.

Any help would be much appreciated.
  • Trying performing a Full Sync from the Sync->Reset pane of the Zotero prefs.
  • Dan, I was in the process of writing when you responded. I looked at the bug report and realized that the problem was a note in a shared library that a colleague had added. I left the group and the sync worked and will get someone in my group to send me a new invitation.

If this should happen in the future, I will try to reset the sync as per your suggestion. Just to be sure, that will not get rid of data that I have stored locally, correct? I was not sure, that is why I was reluctant to try resetting before you sent you suggestion.

    Thank you again.

What bug report? Your error report above wouldn't have provided enough info for that conclusion (though, yes, the problem was caused by a bug related to group libraries). Do you mean debug output?

A Full Sync shouldn't cause you to lose any data, but it's also something that shouldn't really be done unless a developer on here recommends it.
  • Sorry, I meant the debug output, not the bug report. My bad, I got the terminology mixed up.

After I was re-added to the group, the same problem occurred and running the Full Sync resolved the problem. Thank you again for your help!
