PDF Annotation Export forces "p." prefix and comma for Chicago Author-Date style

Hi Zotero Team,

I noticed an issue with the PDF annotation export format when using the Chicago Manual of Style (Author-Date) style.

When dragging/copying highlighted annotations from a PDF into note-taking apps like Obsidian, Zotero outputs:
"(Author, Year, p. Page)" — e.g., "(Richard, 2018, p. 21)"

However, standard Chicago Author-Date style strictly forbids commas between author/year and does not use the "p." or "pp." page prefix. The correct format should be:
"(Author Year, Page)" — e.g., "(Richard 2018, 21)"

It seems the PDF annotation exporter uses a hardcoded template logic that doesn't respect the standard CSL rule for Chicago Author-Date. Is there a way to fix this, or could this be updated in a future patch?

You should treat the formatting of citations in notes as a generic placeholder, it doesn’t follow any specific style. When you insert the note into a document, the formatting will follow whatever citation style you set for the document.
