Bug report: it is impossible to draw with Apple Pencil in Sidecar
Hi,
I’m currently running the macOS 27 beta, so I can’t confirm whether this issue is specific to macOS 27 or is also present on macOS 26. I realize that makes the report somewhat less conclusive, but I thought it was still worth flagging.
I’ve been testing how well my current iPad workflows translate to using an iPad as a Sidecar display for the Mac, particularly with Apple Pencil input.
In Zotero, when the window is placed on the iPad via Sidecar, the Apple Pencil cannot be used for handwriting or drawing. I can select annotation tools normally, and drawing with a finger works, and I can move the cursor or tap UI elements with the Apple Pencil; but touching the screen with the Apple Pencil only moves the cursor rather than producing pen input.
I’m not sure whether this behavior is caused by macOS 27, Sidecar, or Zotero itself, but I wanted to report it in case it is reproducible independently of the beta.
Best,
Anton
