Zotero never connects

I don't know what is wrong but I can rarely just click on the zotero icon and successfully transfer the data. The connector hardly ever works (occasionally it does but it seems completely random as to when it does or not) and I usually end up going through a long process of asking AI to help or transferring the data myself. Dragging a dropping doesn't work either. I've used it for years on both Mac and android and am coming to the end of my tether with it and thinking of using another app.
