[Beta] Advanced search for items without tag fails

I am trying to build a search for items that I have not yet tagged with _checked (green dot) but it returns both checked and unchecked items. I also tried the "is not" option.

This is in Troubleshooting mode, so no interference from plugins.
Am I just incompetent (again)?

I saw errors finding localised search strings when my language was set to en-AU, so changed to en-UK, but I see that didn't change. Other searches work though, just not tags.

Edit: the search returns both tagged and untagged results
