How to disable automatic look up

Well, the title says it all.

I have a large Zotero database (around 3 TB, some 310k first-level items), which I keep in an external hard drive. The result is that the autocomplete feature makes including new items painfully slow.

The problem is worst for author names (it takes several minutes) and is also very bad for tags (I have to type each letter, waaaaaaaait, type the next one, waaaait, etc.). And now there are so many authors and tags that the added value of the autocomplete is zero anyway.

So I need to find a way to disable it. It could be for everything, or just for author names and tags. Or to fully disable autocomplete for authors and limit autocomplete for tags to, say, "the 50 most used tags in the library" or something like that. That would be nice.

The autocomplete time lag problem has gotten so bad that I found that I actually gain time if I open a new Zotero, include the new items in it, export the file, import it to the main database, and manually reclassify each new entry so it goes where it should in the main database. Which is also, needless to say, a gigantic waste of time.

Thank you.
