Word for Windows: windows crash after attempting to add citation due to unrelated comment
Report ID: 1070090539
I was adding citations to a Word document when, in a certain section of the document, any time I attempted to add a citation to that section of the document Word would stop responding and I would have to restart the program. I could still add citations to other sections of the document no problem. I went through all the troubleshooting steps (e.g. copying to a different document, etc), but nothing solved the issue. In the end I did a binary search where I did not find a bugged citation, but instead found a bugged comment, that had no apparent relation to anything Zotero related. After removing the comment I was able to add citations to that section again.
I have not been able to reproduce the issue. The last citation I added to the word document before it started crashing was in an entirely different part of the document, and it does not appear to be bugged at all. I don't know how for long that section of the document had been bugged, as I had not attempted to add any citations there before. I was originally working in a document that was saved on OneDrive, but the issue persisted after saving the file locally.
