Why does my software keep showing "The current version is 9.0.6, not the latest version. Please update to 10.0-beta.14"? Obviously, the update has shown that it is the latest version, and it is completely unusable now.

That's not the message — the actual message is about your database. You previously used the beta and then tried to switch back to the release version. You'll need to stay on the beta until Zotero 10 comes out, at which point you can switch back.
