All fields, all the time, total control
Hello Zoteros,
while i love this program, it also drives me a little nuts occasionally, because i'm somewhat anal about being correct in the bibliography.
When you switch the type of an entry, you lose or get fields, meaning you also lose what you put into these fields.
I think it would be swell, if there were all fields all the time, so you never lose information, when changing.
You could just make the fields, that aren't standard for the current type, like web page, grey, but still accessible/editable. (It would also be nice, to see, which fields are being used by which citation style; this might be already possible? As of now, i'm using the Extra field, and trial and error my way through it. Is there a preview option or do i have to compile my PDF and check the bib?)
You could also have the extra fields be either shown by expanding and not shown by suppressing the extra fields, but they are there in the background.
The author field should also always have all options, like Interviewer etc, just with grey options, so this doesn't get messed with by switching types.
I don't understand why i have to constantly work with the extra field and define non-standard fields, and have to copy-paste a lot, when i change my opinion about which type to use for interviews for example.
Or maybe i'm using it wrong and someone can enlighten me please.
Kind regards, Rene
