Feature Request: Search/Filter bar in "Add to Collection" picker
Summary
Add a search/filter text box to the "Add to Collection" selection list. This search box would be accessible when adding items via the right-click menu (Context Menu) or the "+" icon in the "Libraries and Collections" pane.
Description of the Issue
Currently, when adding an item to a collection, I often either:
1. Right-click the item and select "Add to Collection".
2. Click the "+" icon in the "Libraries and Collections" pane.
Both actions open a menu displaying the collection tree of the current library and a "New Collection" option. As a library grows, navigating through long or deeply nested collection trees via scrolling can become inefficient. It can be tedious to hunt through the tree structure to locate the specific sub-collection needed to organize an item into. It also nudges to grow inconsistent subcollection trees since only subcollections in branches actively explored are seen, but not already existing ones that may be a better or additionally relevant subcollections.
Proposed Feature
Adding a Search Collections (or Filter Collections) box at the top of this "Add to collection picker" —similar to the search bar used in the left sidebar.
Benefits
- Speed: Drastically reduces the time required to organise items into specific collections within nested trees.
- Consistency: Helps build consistent collections, both by reducing duplication of subcollections within other branches of the collection tree and surfacing subcollections in other branches of the tree for which the item may be relevant as well.
