macOS + Microsoft Word + Zotero (latest version).
After updating Zotero, the Word plugin works correctly in a new document.
In my dissertation (~423 pages, ~554 references, ~1800 footnotes), Refresh and Add/Edit Bibliography both hang indefinitely. Add/Edit Citation also hangs and never finalizes. Reinstalling the Word add-in fixed the issue for new documents only. The problem is reproducible only with this document.

    How was this document produced? Did it work before and suddenly stop? How long have you waited? The debug log you've submitted shows that Zotero is waiting for Word plugin to retrieve citations, which in a document of this scope unfortunately can take very long on macOS.

    I tried several things, including splitting parts of the document into a new file and shortening sections to test whether the issue would persist. I found that citations and bibliography generation worked normally in the shorter versions of my dissertation. However, the longer the document became, the more time these functions required.
    In the end, I tested my original large document again: the first citation took about 15 minutes to complete, while subsequent citations were processed within seconds. The bibliography generation took approximately 60 minutes to finish.
