Remove Period at end of all citations in Chicago 18 (notes and bibliography)

Hi all,

Ugh, so sorry about this. This issue goes all the way back to 2008. I have used Zotero and I often need to add text after a citation. So, the default period at the end of every citation doesn't work for me. I want to remove all periods at the end of citations so that I can add my own punctuation (a comma, semicolon, and even sometimes a period!).

I had it working for years. But this new update seems to have changed things to where I cannot figure out how to get back to creating a style without the period at the end of a citation.

There was some code about getting rid of suffix="." and replacing that with suffix="", but I cannot find it anywhere anymore. When I search for the old string I used to replace, it is not there anymore. Or maybe I am just not doing it right.

Do I need to download the code into Notepad, change it, rename it, and upload it again? I believe I did that in the past. It has been so long since I have had to do this, and I am really struggling to get this to work. If I do do this, in what folder do I save the new style?

But there was also another recent post that seemed to suggest that I would not need to create a whole new style to remove the period. Is that true? And if so, how do I do that?

Any advice would be great.

Daniel
