In-text citation

Hi

I want to copy a citation as in text in the following format: Takahashi and Yamanaka (2006), or for instance Takahashi and colleagues (2006)

As of now, is this (Takahashi & Yamanaka, 2006) the only way to copy in text citations?

If you mean via Quick Copy, yes. When using the word processor plugins, you can generate narrative citations by customizing the citation:
