Dates for sources that span many years

Hello,

I'm having an issue with the **Original Date** field in Zotero after updating to a recent version.

Previously, I was able to enter date ranges in the original publication date, such as:

* 1957–1958 (for Lacan's *Seminar 5*)

and have them preserved correctly. I seem to remember that entering the value as text (sometimes using quotation marks) prevented Zotero from normalizing the date.

Now, whenever I enter a range such as `1957-1958` in the **Original Date** field, Zotero only keeps `1957` and discards the rest of the range.

My goal is to cite works with both the original publication period and the edition year, for example:

**Lacan (1957–1958/1999)**

In the past, when I had to use the Extra field, I could enter date ranges such as 1957-1958 and Zotero would preserve them correctly. Now that Zotero has a dedicated Original Date field, entering the same value results in only the first year being kept.

Is there currently a supported way to enter a publication date range in the **Original Date** field so that the full range is preserved and can be used by CSL citation styles? If not, what is the recommended method for representing original publication periods that span multiple years?

Thank you.
